A Better First Financial Conversation Starts Here

You do not need every answer before meeting an advisor. A few thoughtful questions can give your conversation a useful starting point.

Begin with what brought you here

Perhaps a new chapter is approaching, your finances feel scattered, or you simply want to understand your options. Write down what prompted you to reach out. A clear description of the question is often more useful than arriving with a proposed solution.

Describe the life behind the numbers

Think about what you would like more time, freedom, or confidence to do. Some priorities may be close at hand; others may be years away. Bring both to the conversation, and mention the people whose needs are part of your planning.

Gather what you already know

If you have an overview of your current arrangements, bring it to your agreed appointment. You can ask your advisor which documents would be useful beforehand. Avoid sending account details or sensitive documents through an open enquiry form.

Leave with an agreed next step

Use the meeting to understand the scope of support, how fees work, and what would happen next. You should have space to ask questions and consider whether the approach feels right before making a commitment.
